Refund Policy
The free tier and trials never charge you. Change your mind within 14 days of your first purchase and we refund you, wherever you live. You can cancel a subscription any time and keep access until the period ends. Where you bought through an app store, that store handles the refund.
1. Free tier and trials
Olace is free to start, and local and paired AI is free to use. A paid trial does not require a card up front and does not charge you during the trial. If you do not continue, you are not billed. You only pay if you choose to subscribe.
2. Where you bought matters
Olace is sold through a merchant of record, and refunds are handled by whoever sold you the purchase:
- Web and desktop purchases are sold by Paddle, our merchant of record. We handle these refund requests with Paddle; write to us at support@olace.app or use the link on your Paddle receipt.
- iPhone and iPad purchases are sold by Apple. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com under Apple's policy.
- Android purchases are sold by Google Play. Refunds are requested through Google Play under Google's policy.
3. Changed your mind: 14 days
Wherever you are, if you ask within 14 days of your first purchase and have not made substantial use of the paid cloud features, we will refund you in full. If you have used cloud features in that time, we may deduct the value of the credits you consumed. This is our policy for everyone, not only where the law requires it.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this is also a statutory right of withdrawal. Because our paid features are delivered digitally and start working right away, when you begin using one you agree that performance begins immediately, and we honour the 14-day window regardless. Nothing here limits the mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
4. Subscriptions
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, from the app or through the store you bought from, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not generally refund a period that has already started once it is well under way, beyond the 14-day window above and your mandatory legal rights. If a renewal charges you unexpectedly, contact us promptly and we will work it out fairly.
5. One-time and lifetime purchases
One-time purchases, such as a lifetime membership, are also covered by the 14-day refund above. After that window, a one-time purchase is generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we agree otherwise as a goodwill gesture.
6. Credits
Credits are a prepaid allowance to use cloud features. They are not money and have no cash value. Unused credits included with a plan are not refundable for cash and do not carry over unless we state so, and credits you have already used are not refundable. If we refund a purchase, we may deduct the value of credits already consumed from that purchase. Starter Pack credits on the free tier are granted at no charge and are not refundable.
7. If something goes wrong
If you were charged in error, charged twice, or could not use what you paid for because of a fault on our side, contact us and we will make it right, including a full refund where appropriate. Your statutory rights as a consumer always apply.
8. How to ask for a refund
For web and desktop purchases, write to support@olace.app with the email on your account and your receipt, and we will respond promptly. For purchases made in the iOS or Android apps, please use Apple or Google as described above, since they process those payments.
