Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your Olace account, and the data tied to it, at any time from inside the app. This page explains how, what is removed, the little we keep to prevent abuse, and how to ask us if you cannot open the app.
1. Delete from the app
Open Olace, go to Settings, then your account, and choose Delete account. We confirm the request with a one-time code sent to your email or phone, and then deletion is permanent. This is the fastest way, and it stays entirely in your control.
2. What we delete
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the data tied to it, including your conversations, cloud backups, files, paired devices, encryption keys, and billing records. Your encrypted files in object storage are queued for deletion and removed shortly after.
3. What we keep, and why
We keep a small, one-way, non-identifying record, such as a hash of a phone number or device identifier, even after deletion. It cannot be reversed to identify you, and we keep it only to stop the same person from repeatedly claiming free trials and Starter Pack credits. Nothing in it reveals who you are or what you did in Olace.
4. If you cannot open the app
If you have lost access to your devices, write to us at support@olace.app from the email on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify the request and delete your account and data for you.
5. How long it takes
Deletion happens right after you confirm. Removing encrypted files from storage is queued and finishes shortly afterward. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered, so export anything you want to keep first.
